Johns Hopkins Master in Finance Information

Carey School of BusinessJohns Hopkins University is a very well know school within the medical field, but it is improving its reputation in business also. Their master in finance program is very popular and I wanted to speak with admissions at the school to find out some more information for anyone interested. What I found is mentioned below.

Two Locations

  1. Washington, DC
  2. Baltimore, MD

One Night a week classes  – 6-9pm

36 credits, 2 credits per class

Fall and Spring are broken down into two 8 week sessions (you have 4 mini semesters) plus a summer semester

The program is not a cohort program, but a go at your own pace course set up. Because of this you have a large amount of students (>100) enrolled, all at different levels of completion. Many people with industry experience also.

There is a 5-6 years maximum time to complete the degree

Admission Requirements

  • 3.0 GPA
  • GMAT/GRE optional
  • Several years of progressive work experience
  • Analytical/Quantitative background

What is needed to apply:

  • Current Resume
  • Two References
  • 500 word essay
  • Transcripts from all universities that you earned 12+ credits at
  • $100.00 application fee

I asked if there was a plan to have a FT MSF program in the future. They said there might be, but right now they are focusing on rolling other programs out.
