University of Dayton Masters in Finance Program

The University of Dayton Masters in Finance program is brand new and another great addition to the MSF universe. I am always excited to see new programs popping up and I think the University of Dayton is a perfect place for this degree. Years ago when I was doing my MSF, we had a finance conference at Dayton and I found the school to be incredibly impressive and have one of the best finance labs I have ever seen. I’m sure all of this adds to the experience MSF students have here.

The program is 33 credit hours long, with 21 required and 12 electives. Students have the ability to choose between an investment track, a corporate finance track and a quantitative track. There are three program duration options (one and two year) as well as one for UG+MSF students (5 year track). GMAT or GRE is required, except for Dayton undergraduates who have a B or above. Work experience is highly beneficial to applicants. For those well qualified, there are a number of graduate assistantships available.

Application deadline – February 15th.

The University of Dayton Masters in Finance program is too new to have specific placements, but UD has placed students into a number of respected middle market firms throughout Ohio and nationally. I have no doubt that as the program picks up, it will be able to place students into a variety of finance roles. I will reach out to the school to see if I can get some additional information on it to report to all of you.
