Just when you think you’ve found every US Masters in Finance program you come across another one! The University of Minnesota Masters in Finance at the Carlson School of Management is relatively new MSF program being offered by a large, well known university. The program is one year in length, spread over 3 semesters. Students take a number of required classes, but have the option to study a variety of different subjects in finance. This allows for each student to truly customize their educational experience.

All students must take either the GMAT or GRE, as well as provide recommendations and essays. Selected students will be interviewed as part of the admissions process. Below is a list of the application deadline dates for the three rounds:

  • Round 1 Application Deadline: November 1
  • Round 2 Application Deadline: January 1
  • Round 3 Application Deadline: February 1

The program is currently touring college campuses and doing online webinars for interested students. I’ve attended other schools similar events and I find it very helpful to be able to meet and talk with the admissions staff. If you have the opportunity I strongly suggest you try and attend one of these. You can find a full listing of events here.

I am going to reach out to admissions and see if I can get additional information on the program for all of you. I think this is most likely their first year so information might be sparse. Keep checking back as I will try and find out more about this program.
