University of South Florida Masters in Finance Program

The University of South Florida Masters in Finance program is another program in the South Florida market, one that has a number of masters in finance programs for students to choose from. It is a one year program, with a focus on economics and finance. With the amount of Latin American financing as well as wealth management in the South Florida this looks to be a gateway into a decent career in the area.

Admission requirements are straight forward. 550 GMAT (or GRE equivalent) and a 3.0 GPA in your undergrad.  The school is really more focused on a students desire and career goals so I would expect admissions to be on a holistic basis. A limited number of graduate assistantships available to help offset the cost of admission for anyone with financial concerns.

There are two application deadlines – June 1 for both domestic and international students for the fall application cycle. For the spring deadline, international students are required to apply by September, whereas domestic students have another month and are required to apply by October 15.

No word on whether the program is STEM certified, but I would have to imagine it is on their radar as it is with most schools. The website doesn’t mention it, but I would still check in with admissions as this might be something that hasn’t been updated on the site.

For those who are interested, I’ve been lucky enough to have a student review the program. You can read about it here.
