The Penn State Master in Finance program is located at the university’s Great Valley campus, which is a short drive from Philadelphia. The program is flexible and ideal for working professionals, allowing individuals in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas, to pursue their MSF while continuing to work. It is pretty unique in the fact that the degree takes 15 months of study, with classes held every Friday evening and Saturday with 1 weekend off a month. The program is set up as a cohort as well, allowing students to move along the program with their entire class which I find helps build camaraderie and a network of like minded students.
Penn State university alumni are very loyal and passionate about their university. Being located so close to Philadelphia is also a plus, especially if you are working in the city. The Pennsylvania state school system has a great brand and reputation on the east coast, myself personally working with a dozen alumnus from the university. I’ve seen a lot of programs with varying levels of flexibility, but this one seems to be ideally suited for anyone trying to juggle work, school and a family. It has been around for a while at this point and and the school as a whole seems to be putting more effort into these specialized programs.
