Georgetown University Masters in Finance Update

The Georgetown University Masters in Finance program has a couple updated that I thought should be brought to everyone’s attention. This program has really grown in a short period of time and is one of the schools that I think is most responsive to their students and what they want. Originally an online only degree, it has grown and begun allowing both online and in person classes for those in the DC area. I found this to be incredibly beneficial to applicants as many students want the flexibility of being able to take classes online, but also the ability to take certain classes in person.

MSF Open House – April 26th  – 7pm EST

Profession Allan Eberhart will be hosting an online information session for interested students on April 26th at 7pm EST. Students will be able to ask questions directly to Prof. Eberhart as well as see everyone else’s thoughts. I’ve sat in on these before and really found them to be helpful and informative. I encourage anyone interested to sign up and attend.

Career Results

I posted about this a short while ago (you can read it here), but the Georgetown program has had very successful placements over the short time the program has been in existence. The first cohort placed had an average salary increase of 43% with an average graduating base salary of over $90,000. You have incredible geographic diversification with roughly 30% living and working in the NYC metro area, roughly 30% in the DC metro area and 10% in the Chicago metro area.

Helping facilitate this is a dedicated MSF career management individual who focusing on expanding employee relationships and placing MSF students. In addition to the amazing Georgetown brand, the MSF  program provides students with resume help, mock interviews and access to the McDonough School of Business Job Postings.
