The Barcelona Graduate School of Economics has some updated information that I thought would be relevant to anyone looking to study overseas. The Masters in Finance program is currently recruiting for the 2014-2015 class that begins this September. In only 9 months you can have your graduate degree all the while studying in beautiful Spain.
Note that all classes are taught in English and Spanish language fluency is not necessary. The GMAT is also optional for those who have difficulty with standardized tests.
The program is small with about 19 students in the Masters in Finance cohort. Students also hail from around the world, with 53% coming from outside of Spain. A very diverse program for someone looking to study in Europe.
Placements are also diverse. Here is a list of firms that have hired Barcelona GSE graduates:
- Accenture
- Banc Sabadell
- Banco de la Provincia de Buenos Aires
- Banco Santander
- Bank of America
- Bank of England
- Bank of Italy
- Barclays
- Central Bank of Brazil
- Compass Lexecon
- Dell
- Deloitte
- Deutsche Bank
- GVC Gaesco
- Hewlett-Packard
- HSBC (Bangkok)
- “la Caixa” Savings Bank
- Landsbankinn (National Bank of Iceland)
- Pricewaterhousecoopers
- Statoil ASA (Norway)
- United Nations Development Program
- Zurich Cantonal Bank
Lot of well known names on that list. Good testament to what kind of jobs a student can hope to achieve if they do well within the program.
