Georgetown University Masters in Finance Update – August 2024

Georgetown University MSF

Wanted to provide an update on the Georgetown University Masters in Finance program as they are starting to gear up for their admissions cycle. The last post I made highlighted their outstanding career stats. This program continues to mature and grow and remains one of the most popular MSF’s in the country.

Updated Class Profile

I do not know if this is the 2024 class profile, but I compared it to the 2023 one that I posted last and it is different so I am going to consider it to be updated. Either way, it is helpful and informative.

  • Class Size – 187 Enrolled
  • Average Age – 28
  • Work Experience – 4 years average
  • GMAT Average – 688
    • 20-80% – 656 – 712
  • GPA Average – 3.34
    • 20-80% – 2.93 – 3.72
  • Diversity – 41%
  • Female – 18%

Comparing to the last class profile I posted, things look rather consistent. This program can be a good fit for a recent graduate as well as someone early to mid-career, looking for increased education, brand and network. Very diverse program across all metrics as well.

Admissions

The early decision round is done, but there is still plenty of time to apply for the first application round. I always encourage applying early as scholarships and grants usually become more competitive as time goes by.

Application Deadline Decision Notification by Start Date
Early Decision  7/15/2024 8/16/2024 Mid-August 2025
Round 1 10/4/2024 11/1/2024
Round 2 11/22/2024 12/20/2024
Round 3 1/24/2025 2/21/2025
Round 4 3/14/2025 4/18/2025
Round 5 5/2/2025 6/6/2025

I am sure I have mentioned this many times before, but the application process is fairly standard. GMAT/GRE is required, but there is a waiver that you can request. You have to speak with someone from admissions, but I would imagine it involves undergraduate GPA and/or some level of work experience.

Tuition for the program is $79,692 (as of Aug 16th). You can check the current tuition costs here.

Miscellaneous

The Georgetown MSF program has a number of recent articles on the program. You can find them and keep track of new ones here. Two posts that I found very interesting are:

There is an upcoming information session that I would encourage anyone that is interested in applying to attend. Georgetown does a number of these so make sure to check out the homepage regularly as these are constantly updated.

That is the update for now. I will try and get some updated student reviews for future posts. In the meantime, check this program out and make sure to check back often for updated on this amazing MSF!
