The Georgetown University Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program just released their most current class profile and I wanted to get this posted as I personally was waiting to see this. As expected, results continue to be impressive and the program has a large and very strong incoming group of students thanks to a more than 50% increase in applications—over the previous record-setting applicant pool the previous year—and so the Georgetown MSF acceptance rate is low because acceptances/enrollments grew much less as noted below in more detail.
2024-26 Class Profile
- Class Size – 209 Enrolled
- Average Age – 27
- Work Experience – 3.6 years average
- GPA Average – 3.41
- 20-80% – 3.15 – 3.72
- Diversity – 42%
- Female – 23%
This is a 12% larger class size compared to the previous year and with a higher GPA. Diversity and female representation has increased since the previous year as well. I am continually impressed that Georgetown is able to consistently field a class this large with stats this strong. Really a testament to the program’s reputation and popularity.
This is also the 10th anniversary of program launching. Having 10 years of MSF alumni working in finance, consulting, government and elsewhere is a massive benefit. Students will have a deep well of alumni who share their same degree and experience to help them in their job search and throughout their career. Indeed, the program’s carefully documented career outcomes have been extraordinary every year with experienced working professionals (those with 4+ years of experience) in last year’s class more than doubling their salaries between the time of admission and within six months of graduation. Meanwhile, graduates with less than four years of experience had an average base salary of $105,613 and an employment rate of 96%. These strong career outcomes have clearly been an important contributor to the program’s significant increase in applications year after year.

Because of the rise in applications last year—and I’ve heard the program is experiencing another significant increase in applications this year—the program closed admissions early and cancelled the last round.
