Lehigh University Masters in Management Program Update – April 2020

Lehigh University MS in Management

The Lehigh University Masters in Management program is one of the dozen or so MiM programs I have talked about on this site that seem to be of interest to students and I realized that it has been a while since I last posted about it. The site has a bunch of new information and content so I figure the now would be a great opportunity to update everyone on this degree. The school also has a financial engineering degree that I will post about separately. Enjoy the update!

Class Stats

I couldn’t find a specific class profile, but I did come across a number of pertinent stats that I think will be of interest to all of you considering this program.

  • Average GPA – 3.7
  • Undergraduate Schools Represented – 5
  • Salary Mean Average – $69,000
  • Employed Within 3 Months – 89%

I think the employment stats and salary are pretty impressive. Many students who pursue these degrees are looking for a business education and an entry level position. Making almost $70K for a job right out of college is pretty nice in my humble opinion. Having an almost 90% of graduates employed shortly after graduating is encouraging as well. The program talks about 16 hiring firms, a good number for degree that typically has smaller class sizes.

Program Structure

This is a 10-month program for students effectively right out of school (one year or less work experience), who have a non-business undergraduate degree. The site does mention that those with a business minor may apply. There is a one week pre-term orientation for all students to help you prepare for the job search and ultimately a successful job post-graduation. I think this is great and frankly wish every program would do something like this.

Lehigh works hard to incorporate a lot of professional exposure and development into this program. There are trips to New York and Philadelphia where students can meet with different alumni and employers. The school also tries to bring in local executives, providing additional opportunities for students to polish their resumes and build skills that will ultimately lead to on the job success.

Admissions

The final round of admissions is June 1st and rolling thereafter. Because of the COVID-19 outbreak, GMAT requirements are waived. This is very nice for anyone who is either struggling with the test or doesn’t have time to prepare for it. Applications still require an application essay, resume, transcripts and two letters of recommendation.

Tuition for the program is $49,530 (as of 4/27/2020).

A number of grants and scholarships are offered. These include up to $10K in merit aid, as well as scholarships for partner schools applying to the masters in management program. Only those who are accepted to the program are eligible so once you get your welcome email I would schedule time to speak to admissions or financial aid about what you are eligible for.

There are two upcoming virtual information sessions (sign up here). The program director will be hosting and this will be a great opportunity to ask any questions you might have.

    1. Thursday, April 30, 2020 – 12:15-1:15pm Eastern
    2. Friday, May 15, 2020 – 12:15-1:15pm Eastern

Hope you find this helpful. I’ve written about this program a number of times before and I think Lehigh is doing a good job with their Masters in Management.
