Was checking out some posts and realized it has been over a year since I wrote about the Southern Methodist University MSF program. Since I will be going to Dallas soon it makes sense that I update everyone on this great Texas Masters in Finance.
2026 Class Profile
- Size – 105
- Average GPA – 3.53
- Male / Female – 80% / 20%
- International (and out of state) – 28%
Since I last posted the program has grown by about 30 students, all while increasing their GPA. Most of the students come from Texas so something to consider when you are deciding if this program is a fit for you.
Admission
There is still plenty of time to get your application in for the 2026-2027 class.
- Round 4 – April 21st
- Round 5 – May 26th
There will be rolling admissions after this, but I would strongly suggest getting your package in before this.
Tuition is currently $47,372. This has increased slightly from my previous post. Nice to see a MSF keeping tuition largely flat.
Careers
There is no 2025 MSF career report just yet, but the website mentions a 92% employment rate upon gradation for the class of 2025. I am sure the full report will be forthcoming.
The website also include a list of hiring firms. Doesn’t say which particular year, but the list is strong and full of well known names:

I will check back soon as I suspect the full employment report is in the works. SMU is a well known school with a beautiful campus. Dallas has been growing like crazy over the years and is a great place to live and work. If you are considering Texas, this should be a program on the top of your list.
