It has been a while since I last checked in on the Southern Methodist University MSF program and there have been some updates. Texas continues to be a growing state for both population as well as jobs and this university is well regarded in Dallas as well as elsewhere in the state (as well as outside of Texas).
2024 Class Profile
- Size – 75
- Average GPA – 3.42
- Average GRE – 315
- International – 19%
I checked out my last posted on this program and I had the 2022 class profile on there. Scores have remained relatively consistent. I didn’t see GMAT scores listed this time, but the GRE average converts into roughly a 620-630 GMAT score.
Admissions
You still have time to get your application in for Round 5 (May 28th is the deadline). If that is too tight you can start preparing for next year. Looks like they open up the application in October so you have the summer to get things in line.
Tuition is currently $46,444. There is another $9,438 in University and Program Fees. I usually do not mention these to keep things consistent for comparison purposes, but these are particularly impactful. This represents a slight increase from when I posted last year.
There are a limited number of merit based scholarships for $5,000 each. Students are automatically enrolled, which is nice. These are generally awarded based on GMAT or GPA performance.
Career Outcomes
The career site has the placement report for the 2023 class and the stats look great as well as consistent. Of those seeking full time employment, 93% accepted a full time position within 6 months of graduation. The average salary was $80,000 and the average signing bonus was almost $10,000. The majority of graduates (80%) found employment in the Southwest (Texas being the obvious place).

Looks like this program continues to grow and placements are impressive. The cost of attendance hasn’t risen much year over year and is still relatively affordable when compared to other programs. I will stay on top of this MSF and hopefully have another update for you soon.
