I recently was asked about the Fordham University Masters in Global Finance program and realized that this was a program that I haven’t looked at in ages. I checked out the website and saw a lot of good things and thought it was way beyond time for me to write an update on this program. Since my last post was rather old, I will provide a general overview of the program below.
Overview
From the schools website:
“The MS in Global Finance program at the Gabelli School of Business covers financial technology, emerging economies, global portfolio strategies, and other core topics in the field. Students develop specialized skills in functions that are valued by international companies, such as financial analysis, VBA, R, Python, Tableau, raising capital, and managing assets and risk. “
All students must choose one of three tracks – Corporate Finance, Investment Management, and Financial Analytics. This is a STEM program as well. Great for international students.
Fordham has both an online and in person option for this program, which is something that I like a lot considering the required flexibility that many students require. Students take 36 credit hour, taught over 3 semesters, but can be stretched out to 4 if a student wants to take a summer internship.
Career Outcomes / Class Profile
So information is a little thin on this program, but there is some information that I think can help guide you in your decision making process.
- Class Size – 101 Students
- GRE/GMAT is optional – very nice feature
- Male / Female – 52%/48% – This is something that many programs are working hard to achieve and it is great to see that the Fordham program has almost parity in men and women enrollment
