It has been a while since I wrote an update on the Vanderbilt University MSF program and I wanted to rectify this as there have been a number of new things to report on. This program is continually one of the best in the country and they have always done an amazing job at providing information and timely updates on their ever popular masters in finance.
Class Profile
Vanderbilt has posted their 2022 class profile and they continue to impress. Class size is sizable, but not unwieldily, GPA remains very high, international remains modest and make up of undergraduate universities and majors continues to show the variety that program has. All in all, very impressive to see in light of Covid-19.
- Class Size – 81 students
- Average UG GPA – 3.67
- Female – 22%
- International – 14%
How I Got the Job
Something that Vanderbilt does that I truly love is have this feature “How I got the job”. Recent graduates talk about how they got their current position and what tips they would give current or prospective students to do the same thing. I really like this as they do a number of these posts routinely and it is a great way for someone to get an idea of what they would have to do to get a similar result. Below are few of the most recent posts:

In reading these articles, some of the great things I took away from them was the career center helping students with their salary negotiations, mock interviews and technical preparation for finance interviews and the helpfulness and value of the Vanderbilt University alumni network. Three great examples of how Vanderbilt prepares individuals for their chosen profession.
Admissions
The final official round of applications has passed, but I would encourage anyone still considering the program to reach out as the school mentions rolling admissions if there are still seats available. For students with a 3.5 GPA or higher, there is a possibility that you will be able to get a GMAT or GRE waiver as well. One less thing to worry about if you have an otherwise strong application profile.
