The University of Southern California MSF program is one of the best in the country and ever since this degree launched there has been incredibly interest in attending. I’ve worked to update everyone as often as possible on this MSF and I think we are well overdue for another post. They website looks new and updated and I plan on reaching out to admissions with some questions I have. Stay tuned as I should have another post on this one very soon.

Career Information
On the USC MSF website the last placement report was done in 2019. I decided to check out the USC career centers page and happily found some updated placement information and salary data. This isn’t going to be as comprehensive as what the program will put out, but should be helpful directionally. I will ask when the next full report will be done. In the meantime, this should work.
Compensation Summary – Class of 2020
- Median Base $74,000
- Average Base $75,871
Here is a sample of the hiring firms for the Class of 2020:
Agriculture Bank of China | Goldman Sachs | PwC |
Brooklands Capital | HSBC | Silicon Valley Bank |
Citigroup | JPMorgan (APAC) | Truist Securities |
City National Bank | McKinsey & Company | UBS Investment Bank |
General Motors | Northrop Grumman Corp. | WeCyte Technology |
Admissions
The first two application deadlines have passed, but you can still apply up until May 31 or the program is full. International applicants should submit their application no later than April 15.
This is a 16-month program allowing for an internship in the summer. Keep this in mind.
Tuition changes, but from the website the current per credit cost is $2,197 for Business Graduate classes (500 level and above). I believe (confirm yourself) that this is a 30-credit hour masters. That would put tuition around $65,000.

That is what I have for right now. Let me connect with the university and I will either update this post or make a new one. This program has been continually successful and has always be of interest to anyone considering a MSF. There are not too many West Coast programs and this is clearly one of the best. More to come.
