It has been too long since I last wrote an update on the University of Michigan MiM program. Lots of things have been going on and the school continues to produce outstanding results. I’ll do a general refresh of the program here as well as placement information and anything else relevant.
Overview
This is a 10-month program for recent, non-business grads with limited work experience. The goal of this degree is to prepare students for a career in business, helping them to augment their undergraduate education. This MiM incorporates real work experience as well as career assistance with the goal of preparing graduates to successfully land that first professional position.

- Class Size – 146
- Average UG GPA – 3.67
- Men/Women – 47% / 53%
- International – 14%
Students have a wide variety of undergraduate majors with Science, Economics and Communications being the most common. Internationally, you have students from over 10 countries. Very diverse program.
Admissions
Standard requirements – essay, resume, recommendations, etc. Applicants can waiver the GMAT/GRE requirements if their undergraduate GPA is 3.3 or above. The website gives some application tips, mainly make sure you highlight how you have made an impact, both inside and outside of school, you know why you want Ross and you are ready for a challenge.
Application deadlines are as follows:
- Round 2 – October 27th
- Round 3 – January 5th
- Round 4 – February 9th
- Round 5 – April 5th
Please note that Round 4 is the final deadline for international applicants.
Tuition – Michigan Residents – $53,615 / Non-Residents – $58,615.
There are a number of scholarships available and if a student is eligible for one they will know when they receive their application decision.
Careers
Michigan does a great jobs with employment and career reporting. Below is information on the class of 2022:

- 103 Companies hired graduates from the class of 2022
Students were placed throughout the country, with the Midwest (Chicago) and Northeast (NYC) being the majority of where students went. Industry wise, consulting, media/entertainment and financial services were the most common. Hiring companies represent all the major consulting, banking and F500 firms.

The school does an incredible job of providing a lot of detailed information, including alumni profiles and testimony, detail annual career reports as well as activities students can partake in once admitted. Definitely spend time reviewing the site and getting familiar with this amazing Masters in Management program.
