The University of Rochester Masters in Finance program continues to be a highly regarded, internationally known MSF program that is able to recruit large classes year in and year out. I’ve followed this program for over a decade now and their results have continued to be solid. I recently checked on their site and have a bunch of updates for all of you.
Class of 2025 Profile
The Rochester MSF program has always put together a comprehensive profile to help students compare themselves. The university has also been consistent which is difficult when you have a larger class size. I will lay out the profile below and then provide some comments.
- Total Class Size – 121 Students
- Male / Female – 64% / 36%
- GPA Average – 3.3
- GMAT Range – 630 – 740
- GRE Range
- Verbal – 149 – 164
- Quant – 159 – 170
The average age of students enrolled is 23 with 1.5 years of work experience. There are 15 countries of origin represented with the majority of students studying business & commerce during their undergrad. The website also mentions that more than half of the students received a scholarship from the university. Wonderful to see.
Compared to the last time I updated everyone on this program the results are very similar. More men this year than last, but nearly 40% women is still respectable for a graduate degree in finance. Class size has come down some this year (121 vs 191), but is still a large MSF cohort. All the other stats were almost exactly the same.
Admissions
As I mentioned during my last updates, the application process is fairly standard. Below are the deadlines and it looks like you still have a time to hit the first round if you want.
Round | Application Window | Deadline |
---|---|---|
Round 1 | September 1–October 15 | October 15 |
Round 2 | October 16–January 5 | January 5 |
Round 3 | January 6–February 15 | February 15 |
Round 4 | February 16–March 31 | March 31 |
Round 5 | April 1–May 1 | May 1 |
Tuition 2024/2025 – $88,500 (this is a small increase from last year.
The university gives out a lot of scholarships and financial aid which should help with the overall cost of attendance.

I checked the career section and that material is still the same as when I posted about it before. A respectable 84% of job seeking graduates accepted a employment within six months of graduation with an average salary of $84,934. I will keep checking back and when I see this information updated I will let you know.
