The University of Virginia MS in Commerce program is one of the best specialized masters in the country. Year in and year out they place students in a wide variety of top roles at the best firms. This year continues this trend.
80% of the graduating class had obtained a full-time position within 3 months of graduating, with that number increasing to over 90% when you include students pursing full time internships as well. Only 5% of students were still seeking a position post graduation, a number that is extremely low.
The average base salary for the finance track (34% of the class) was roughly $70K and $62K for marketing & management track students (66% of the class). These base salaries are very good, especially for the finance track. Keep in mind this does not include bonuses which can be a large portion of a finance positions compensation package.
Recruiting organizations span the F500 world and include names such as Amazon, Bank of America, Fannie Mae, FTI Consulting, JPMorgan, McKinsey & Company, Morgan Stanley, Nike, Rolls-Royce, and Walt Disney Company. There are far too many to mention, but these are a few stand outs.

The program is still accepting applicants so I encourage any recent, liberal arts graduate to take a look at the program. It provides a great platform for someone without a business background to spend a year in a world class university, choose the career track they want to prepare for and then have access to the best employers out there.
