The Babson College Masters in Finance is a new program just recently announced that I thought all of you would be interested in hearing about. Located outside of the Boston metro, Babson allows you to study near one of the major financial hubs in the United States. This is a nice addition to the Masters in Finance scene, especially for those interested in studying and working in Boston.
The program is 9-months long and allows students to customize their studies with 15 electives and 15 required core credits. One of the required courses, Financial Data Analysis and Practice, trains students to use industry-standard data sets for research and to write a range of financial memos and reports. To those interested in applying, there are five application deadlines you can consider. First round applications are due by October 31st. You will hear back by Mid-December. This is nice for those who are looking to lock down a program early in the year. Applications go all the way up to June 1st which gives those who are looking for a last minute program a good option as well.
Tuition is $49,800 which is right around what many programs are charging. MSF students can also be considered for the Dean’s Scholarship ($20K) and Olin Scholarship ($10K). Application requirements are standard for MSF programs. Students can submit either GRE or GMAT scores, along with essays, transcripts and recommendations. What’s great about the Babson MSF, though, is that you also have the option of submitting your SAT or ACT scores instead of the GMAT or GRE!
More information to follow as the program gets off the ground and has their first year.
