The Johns Hopkins Master in Finance program just released a very nice 3-page placement report. The program is very popular on my site and I am routinely asked about placements from the program. Until now most of the information I had was positive, but anecdotal. With the release of this report any students interested in the program will now have some concrete information to help them make their decisions.
JHU 2015 Placement Report
Some interesting takeaways from the report:
- 66% of the placements were in the USA (29% in China)
- 81% of the US placements were East Coast (67% in the NYC/PA area)
- 58% went into Financial Services
I was surprised and excited to see that the majority of students were placed in the US. The program was always East Coast focused, but you had students finding work in California, Texas and elsewhere, which I found encouraging.
Below is a list of firms hiring Johns Hopkins graduates:
- 21st Century Fox
- Accenture
- Alibaba / Alipay US
- Amazon
- BAML
- China Union Pay
- Cisco Systems
- Citibank
- CITIC Securities

- Deloitte Consulting
- Ernst & Young LLP
- General Electric
- IBM Corporation
- International Monetary Fund
- JPMorgan
- KPMG LLP
- McKinsey & Company

These are some pretty good and diverse placements for students. It will be telling how the program does going forward, especially now that they have their accreditation. I do hope this report is updated annually as it will show students a pattern of success. Right now this should do when it comes to helping people make their decisions.
