Babson College Masters in Finance Update – January 2025

The Babson College Masters in Finance program is one of the many great MSF options in the Boston area. This city has the highest number of specialized masters programs in finance as any city I have seen. Great for anyone who lives in Boston or is interested in studying/living these. I’ve been many times and it is one of my favorite cities.

Class Statistics

I posted the previous class statistics (profile) and it looks like they have updated this.

  • 38% Women
  • 69% International Students
  • 16% Domestic Students of Color
  • Average GPA: 3.47
  • Average Work Experience: 1–2 Years

Things look pretty consistent from the last profile I posted. Slightly less international students, slightly higher GPA, a little more women. Consistency is good.

Admissions

For the upcoming application cycle the GMAT and GRE are no longer required. I believe in the previous years there was a waiver process, but this has been eliminated. Tuition has not changed and remains at $1,820 per credit hour. Nice to see a university not annually increasing the cost of attendance.

Round Application Deadline Decision Available
2 January 13, 2025 Mid-March
3 March 27, 2025 Early May
4 May 7, 2025 Early June
5 June 1, 2025 Rolling as space available
Rolling Admissions* Rolling as space available

International applicants who require a new student visa are strongly encouraged to apply by Round 3.

Plenty of time to still apply to this program if you have interest.

Career Information

They’ve updated the salary for the class of 2023. A little lower than the last time I reported on this ($90,335), but still a nice base salary to earn right out the gate.

  • Average Base Salary – $83,540
  • 100% Job Placement within 6 months

I checked on the career site and the hiring firms have not been updated. I would consider this program a strong one for Boston area companies. Local banks, asset managers, etc. I am sure there are a good number of Babson alumni in New York as well if you are looking to network outside of Massachusetts.

Glad to see placements remain strong with this program and the starting salary is great, especially when you consider the cost of the program. GMAT/GRE testing continue to be eliminated, frankly, something I have supported for a long time now. Would love to see an updated list of hiring firms, but I am sure that will come soon. Definitely check this program out if you are considering a New England MSF.
