Boston College Masters in Finance Program Update – May 2024

The Boston College Masters in Finance program is one of the first ones I looked at when I was considering which MSF to apply to. It has been around for ages now and consistently provides a great education, respected brand and strong placements. I was checking out their webpage and there are some updates that I think warranted a new post. Enjoy!

2023 Class Profile

Full Time MSF

  • Average UG GPA – 3.31
  • Average GMAT – 665
    • GMAT 80th Percentile – 610–720
  • Average GRE – 322
    • GRE 80th Percentile – 304-334
  • International – 78%
  • Female – 39%

Part Time MSF

  • Average UG GPA – 3.43
  • Average Work Experience – >2 years
  • Female – 38%

Looks like scores have stayed pretty consistent. Average GMAT scores for the full time program came down some. Same for GPA. All still respectable. Female representation in both the part time and full time program nearly doubled. Great to see this.

Admissions

Boston College is currently accepting applications on a rolling basis until July 31st. They are also waiving the application fee for the rest of the cycle. You should reach out to the program before submitting in order to get the waiver.

The full time program usually starts accepting applications in October so anyone who missed this window has the summer to start preparing for the first round of applications in a few months.

Career Outcomes

The career center includes some good information regarding salary and placements. Their list of employers is cumulative, going from 2021-2023. Wish it was broken out by year, but still helpful all the same.

  • Placement Rate – 76%

That is the update for now. Continued strong placements and good salary data for both domestic and international students. Still have some time to apply for this upcoming class and plenty of time to prepare for next years cycle. I’ll keep checking in on this program and updating all of you whenever something new comes up.
