DePaul University Masters in Finance Update – December 2024

The DePaul University Masters in Finance program is another Chicago based MSF options for anyone looking to study and work in the city. I posted very briefly about this program years ago so this post will be a complete refresh and overview. Enjoy!

Overview

This MSF is a 48-credit hour, in person degree allowing students flexibility in the time they. take to complete their degree. Students must take 6 core classes and 6 electives for a total of 12 graduate classes. The program allows for a number of computer science, data analytic and real estate electives, which should let you customize your degree depending on the desired career outcome.

The DePaul MSF is STEM designated, essential for international students as it allows you to extend you time in the USA once you graduate. All programs are STEM at this point which makes complete sense.

Admissions

DePaul has a standard admissions package with the GMAT/GRE optional. Resume, transcripts, essay detailing your career goals and why you want to attend the program and an online application. Letter of recommendation is optional, but I would suggest you get one if possible. Always shows positively.

Admissions is rolling and per quarter. Below are the deadlines you should focus on.

Enrollment Quarter Domestic Student Deadline International Student Deadline
Fall August 15 August 15
Winter December 1 October 1
Spring March 1 February 1
Summer June 1 April 1

Tuition is $1,192 per credit hour for the 2024-2025 academic year. This translates to a tuition cost of $57,216. There are a number of scholarships and other financial aid resources for students and I strongly suggest you inquire about them. The more affordable you can make your education, the higher the return on investment will be.

DePaul is a well know brand in the Chicago area and the business campus is right in downtown Chicago. The flexibility of the program is a nice benefit and I know the university parters with a number of local banks and companies. Definitely check this out if you for a city based program.
