I haven’t written about the Florida International University Master in Finance program in ages. With all the growth in Florida and finance jobs moving down to the state I thought it was due time to do an update on this program. Things have changed significantly since COVID and the state is booming. FIU is a great option for anyone in the South Florida area and there is a lot of new information on the program. This post will be a refreshed overview of the program since so much time has passed.
Overview
This is a one-year, 36 credit hour MSF, offered either in person or online. FIU is a University Affiliation Program with the CFA Institute, something I think if wonderful and have mentioned with numerous other programs. Classes are held at night and on Saturdays at the MMC Campus and FIU Brickell campuses. Students can start in the Spring and Fall so you don’t have to wait a full year to begin your MSF. You can specialize in Investments, International Banking and Financial Management, giving you options to focus your education depending on your desired career outcome. Classes are taken two at a time in 8-week terms. Core courses are taken at the location chosen to study based on specialization and start term.

Miscellaneous
On the website they have an interview with a recent MSF graduate. You can watch the video here. There are also a number of information sessions you can sign up for and can be found at the bottom of the MSF homepage. I’d strongly suggest signing up for this if you have an interest in the program.

I am glad I checked in on this program as there was a lot of new material to post regarding this program. I think Florida will continue to grow and add finance jobs for the foreseeable future and programs in the area will see a benefit because of this. If you are considering a career in the state, check out this MSF.
