It has been a while since I checked in on the Purdue University Masters in Finance program and it looks like the school has been renamed and the website has been updated as well. This is a very well respected university and the program has been around for a long time at this point. Nice to see a bunch of new materials on this great MSF. Enjoy the comprehensive update.

Class Profile
Purdue has done a good job providing detailed class profile stats. The last time I checked their class size was around 30 students. Don’t see that information provided, but I would assume they are approximately in the same ball park.
- Average GPA – 3.3
- Average Years Work Experience – 1-4
- Male / Female – 70% / 30%
There are over 26 different undergraduate programs represented and students hail from all over the globe and US. Same with undergrad majors. Pretty diverse student body.
Admissions
The admission process and requirements are fairly standard. Purdue does a nice job of illustrating minimum scores you need. Handy for anyone who scores at or below these.
- GPA – Greater than a 2.4 for STEM and 2.6 for Non-STEM
- GMAT – 500 or higher (equivalent for GRE)
Outside of this things are fairly standard. Note that if you have a 3.5 or above GPA you can waive your GMAT/GRE requirements.
Plenty of time this summer to prepare for Round 1. Below is the upcoming application deadlines.
Application | Deadline | Decision Released |
---|---|---|
Round 1 | October 1 | October 20 |
Round 2 | November 17 | December 8 |
Round 3 | December 15 | February 9 |
Round 4 / Final International Applicants living outside of the U.S. | March 15 | Rolling |
Round 5 | May 1 | Rolling |
Final Domestic and International Applicants currently living in the U.S. | June 15 | Rolling |
Tuition is broken down between in state, out of state and international. All three are fairly cost effective.
Cost Per Credit Hour | Full Tuition | |
---|---|---|
Indiana Residents | $696 | $25,056 |
Out-of-State Students | $998 | $35,928 |
International Students | $1,370 | $49,320 |
Based on 36 total credit hours.
