The Rutgers University Master of Financial Analysis is the universities answer to a MSF and functions very similarly. This is a very popular university with a sizable alumni base in NYC working in finance. Definitely a good option for anyone from the northeast trying to get a degree from a school that almost entirely places into NYC. I’ve posted about this program once before, but noticed some updates that warranted an update here.
Updates
I am going to list a bunch of things I came across in no particular order.
- MFINA graduates from the Class of 2023 reported a 81% employment rate* within 6 months of graduation. Note: based on 95% response rate.
- MFINA graduates from the Class of 2022 reported a 95% employment rate within 6 months of graduation. Note: based on 95% response rate.
Per the Rutgers fact sheet the following firms have hired Rutgers University Master of Financial Analysis students:
- Bloomberg
- HSBC
- JP Morgan Chase
- Morgan Stanley
- State Street.
This is obviously only a sampling, but Rutgers is very well represented in NYC finance and I am sure the full list is much more encompassing.
This is a STEM designated program, key for international students.
Admissions
The application process is fairly standard. GMAT or GRE is required. For those who are interested, you still have time for this years application cycle:
- Fall 2025 (domestic applicants)
- International (Full-Time)
Tuition for this program is broken out 3 ways – NJ Resident, Non-NJ Resident and International Student. Obviously, this program is most affordable if you are a New Jersey resident, but the program is in line (cost wise) with similar MSF programs in the areas.
I pulled this from the schools website and this is tuition only. Please make sure to check in with the college before you apply as these costs can change.
