University of Chicago Masters in Management Update – December 2024

The University of Chicago Masters in Management program is now over a year old and recruiting for its second class so I felt it was definitely time to update everyone on this top tier specialized masters program. Bunch of great updates and information on this program and nice to see it having a very successful first year.

2025 Class Profile

  • Class Size – 116 Students
  • Average GPA – 3.63
  • Men / Women – 48% / 52%

Thr program has students hailing from 69 different undergraduate institutions with 45 unique majors. Majority of students came from an economics background (44%), liberal arts (25%), business (11%), and the rest being made up of physical sciences, engineering and other.

Admissions

As noted in my initial post on this program, this is designed for non-business undergraduate students who have recently graduated. Those who have completed their bachelors degree between September 2023 and August 2025, are eligible to apply.

Round Submission Deadline Decision Release
Two January 9, 2025 Week of March 3, 2025
Three March 6, 2025 Week of April 21, 2025

The first round application window just closed so there is plenty of time to get your package in. I always suggest early is better as spots start filling out. This is a top tier program and I am sure as time goes on interest in this specialized masters will only increase.

There is a helpful article breaking down the Booth MiM process with some tips and suggestions for anyone considering applying. You can read about it here.

Accelerated MBA

Something I think is very interesting and enticing about this program is that students can apply MiM creates to an accelerated Booth MBA. This is a pretty amazing benefit later on down the road.

Miscellaneous

More information on this program keeps coming out as it is still new, but they have a great article on a woman from the Colorado College that they just accepted. Some quotes from the article that I found interesting:

“I am a relationship-oriented person, and I want to pursue a career that allows me to impact people’s lives on a personal basis. The MiM Program will allow me to continue to grow my technical skills while simultaneously teaching me how to truly make a difference in people’s lives through relationships.”

“The program will help me achieve my immediate goals of further developing strong business analytic skills while also meeting my long-term goals of working in the fields of finance and economics. Booth is a world-renowned academic institution with tremendous resources and opportunities that will allow me to advance my understanding of business fundamentals and data analytics.”

That is the update for now. I will reach out to UChicago as there is another specialized masters program being offered that I will post about in short order. Very exciting to see a new school, especially of this calibre offering this type of degree. Stay tuned!
