A bunch of updates for the University of Southern California MSF program. New class profile, placement results as well as application deadlines. This program has been ranked #1 in the United States by the Financial Times and has been incredibly popular since it first launched.
Class Profile
This is a very selective program with around 10% of applicants joining the incoming class. Stats for those who made it are equally impressive.
- Class Size – 126 Students
- Average GPA – 3.56
- Average GMAT – 685
- Average GRE – 325
- Average Work Experience – 5 months
- Male / Female – 60/40
- International / Domestic – 76% / 24%
Sizable class with strong GPA and test averages. I went back and checked my previous posts and either they didn’t include a class profile or I missed it, but USC is a strong school for both undergraduate and graduate school. You need to have good test scores and an overall profile to be competitive here.
Employment Stats
I am searching for the full 2024 Placement Report and once I have it I will do another post with all the details. While we wait for that we still have some fairly good details to share.
- Employed – 87%
The list of hiring firms is impressive and covers all the major banks, real estate and corporate finance companies one would want to work for. I am sure the salary and bonus averages are top tier. Like I said, more to follow, but for now this is pretty good.
Admissions
Normal application package like I have detailed previously. Unlike many schools, you must take the GRE or GMAT. No waiver requests.
Right now you have one more application window for anyone consider this program:
- Round 3 – Deadline (April 15th) / Decision (June 15th)
Tuition for this program (16 months) is $94,872. This is priced on the upper bounds for a MSF, but the 3 semester aspect of the program factor into this. Theoretically you will have a paid internship in the summer to help offset this cost and set you up for full time employment once you graduate.

That is the update so far. Things are operating very well at USC and the Financial Times ranking will help the program as well as graduates. I will see if I can get a full placement report for all of you as well.
