It has been a while since I checked in with the University of Texas at Austin MSF program and since I have been on a roll with Texas programs I felt the timing was perfect to update all of you. I also happened to have been in Austin recently and walked around campus. Location for this program is definitely a massive selling point (among other things). Check out all the great things going on with this top tier MSF program below.
2020 Class Profile
The class of 2020 for the University of Texas at Austin MSF program shows the continued growth that they have seen. At 69 students, the class is large, but not unwieldily. This is sightly larger than last year. Being able to recruit and start that many students without sacrificing standards is impressive. Almost half the class (42%) is female, which is incredible and a significant growth YoY. The Texas MSF continues to recruit a strong and diverse class.
Here are the current year stats and last years (which I featured in this post). I think the comparison is helpful.
Class of 2020 | Class of 2019 | |
---|---|---|
Class Size | 69 | 67 |
Average GPA | 3.49 | 3.44 |
Average GMAT | 687 | 687 |
Average GRE | 315 | 316 |
Average Work Experience | 10 Months | 10 Months |
Career Outcomes
The program has updated career outcomes (although I am unsure which year they are highlight – I believe it is 2018 or 2019). Mean salary for all groups is $70,150, with international students having a slightly lower mean than domestic students. Financial services placements account for 63% of the class (much higher than previously), with consulting at 21% and other coming in at 16%. The consistency of the consulting placements impress me.
I am trying to find a full listing of who has hired Texas MSF students, but in the meantime, the website lists some hiring employers to give you an idea of where students go to work once they graduate:
- BBVA
- Credit Suisse
- Deloitte
- EY
- Goldman Sachs
- Dimensional Fund Advisors
- JP Morgan
- Wells Fargo

There is your update for the UT MSF program. I am working on some fresh student reviews as well, but from what I can see, anyone attending this program is getting a world class education and great job opportunities. And as someone who was just on campus, a phenomenal college experience.
