2021 Career Information

The UT MSF program provides a pretty comprehensive career report (found here). I was impressed with the quality of placements as well as variety. Salary information maps to current market compensation as well.

  • Average Starting Salary – $72,128
  • Maximum Starting Salary – $100,000
  • Median Starting Salary – $70,750

The bulk of the graduates found employment within Texas (Austin, Dallas and Houston), but a good number went to work in New York, Chicago and Nashville. Most of the students (77%) placed in finance, with the bulk of those students going into Corporate Finance, Investment Management and Valuation.

Hiring firms ran the gamut of banking (both Global and Regional), consulting, F500, etc. Some names that stood out include:

  • Accenture
  • Bain
  • Cadence Bank
  • Delta
  • Dell
  • FTI Consulting
  • Goldman Sachs
  • JPMorgan
  • Prudential
  • Boston Consulting Group (BCG)

The full report is included above and I encourage all of you to check it out. Tons of details regarding salary ranges (domestic and international), titles, full list of hiring firms, geographic information, etc. Always love seeing detailed career reports. A mark of a good MSF.

I will try and find some additional information or maybe an updated student review of the program. Keep checking back until then. Hope everyone found this helpful.
