The University of Texas MSF program is one of the top MSF’s in the United States and is always in high demand with applicants. The university has been able to do an incredible job with educating and placing students since the programs inception and that continues to this day.
Application Deadline
Right now there is still time to apply for the 2023-2024 class. The Round 4 deadline is May 15, 2023. Looks like the deadline for international applicants has unfortunately passed.
I’ve posted about the application requirements before, but one think I wanted to mention is that UT graduates with a 3.5 or higher can get a GMAT waiver. Very enticing for current students.
Tuition remains unchanged since I last posted. It is $48,000 for Texas residents and $53,000 for non-Texas residents (as of April 14th, 2023).
Online Information Sessions
The UT admissions office has tons of options for students to meet with them in person or virtually. I’ve posted about various information sessions before, but thought it would be good to update all of you on some upcoming dates.
- MS Finance Virtual Information Session – 4/18/23 – 8-9PM ET – Link
- MS Application Workshop – 4/19/23 – 1-2PM ET – Link
These are the two that are coming up and listed, but I would check back frequently as they usually keep these pretty fresh.
Career Outcomes Class of 2022
I was looking for the annual employment report and could not find it posted just yet. There is a bunch of recent placement and salary information for the class of 2022 on the website that should do for now. Statistics are amazing as expected. I will do a separate post once I find the full report.
Overall
- Average Salary: $81,055
- Median Salary: $75,000
Nice salary figures. They break this out by region and by industry. All looks to be around $80K base. I pulled the chart below from the website. Once the full report comes you will be able to see all the firms hiring graduates.
Sample Companies Hiring MSF Graduates | Sample Job Titles of MSF Graduates |
---|---|
BBVA Compass | Financial Analyst |
Credit Suisse | Investment Banking Analyst |
Deloitte | Portfolio Management Analyst |
EY | Operations Analyst |

Most students (82%) accepted positions in the Southwest (I am going to assume Texas being the bulk of this) and the majority of students (68%) went into finance as an industry.

Pretty good update for right now. I would expect the Class of 2022 Employment Report to be posted in the next month or two. Will update once that comes out.
