I realized that I haven’t done an update on the University of Utah Master in Finance program in a while and it seems a lot has changed in that time. The program continues to improve and develop, with a continued focus on strong placement statistics, including 92% of domestic graduates employed within 3 months of graduation, with an average starting salary above $70,000. Additionally, 70% of international graduates have been placed within 3 months of graduation, and the average starting salary for students with prior finance experience is above $82,000 two years running.
This is pretty impressive, especially the international student statistics. The website includes pretty detailed employment stats, including a sampling of firms that have hired foreign students. They include:
- American Healthcare Lendin
- LDD Partners
- Shanghai United Steel Exchange
- Vita Medical Devices
- Wex Inc.
- Morningstar
The Eccles School MSF program has also expanded scholarship offerings, awarding all applicants with a 650+ GMAT score a scholarship with admission. Scholarship awards in 2016 ranged from $2,500 – $19,000, with a number of awards given to non-resident and international students.
The Eccles School MSF program has included increased student resources and staff dedicated to providing an excellent student experience. Additional program leadership, career coaches and administrative support have no doubt contributed to both program and student success. Adding this additional staff shows the growth the program has experienced since I first wrote about it.
With all these changes I think this program should definitely be one everyones radar. If you love the outdoors, Salt Lake City is probably one of the most beautiful areas you can be in. Lot of good financial firms out there as well. I’ll make sure to do a better job of keeping everyone updated on this program going forward.
