Vanderbilt University MSF Program Update – March 2023

Vanderbilt MSF Logo

I was poking around the Vanderbilt University MSF programs website today and noticed some updates. Since this is one of the top programs in the country and one that is continually asked about I thought it would be great to write an update for everyone. It has been a little bit and I like to stay on top of this one. Enjoy!

2023 Class Profile

I posted about the 2022 class in my last post which will make the comparison with this current year easy. I will list the stats and provide some thoughts after.

  • Class Size – 79 students
  • Male / Female – 73% / 27%
  • Average GMAT – 691
  • Average Undergraduate GPA – 3.71
  • International – 25%

Compared to last year this profile looks consistent and slightly better. GPA and GMAT increased incrementally. The program became more gender diverse and international students still make up a nice, but manageable (from a placements perspective) percentage of the program.

Admissions

Wanted to let all of you who are still interested in applying know that you have basically one more round let for this upcoming class. If you want a shot, move fast!

*Limited to U.S. citizens, permanent residents or international students with a 4-year U.S. undergraduate degree.

Career Paths

I believe I wrote about this in the past, but I think an other path has been added. Either way, it is probably good to remind everyone. This degree can be tailored to suit your professional aspirations, something that I think is incredibly helpful to make your MSF stand out.

  • Investment Banking
  • Investment Research
  • Private Wealth Management
  • Real Estate Finance
  • Corporate Finance
  • Advisory Services and Consulting

If you look at the programs placement reports you can see how varied the career outcomes are for this program. Vanderbilt has designed their MSF to both provide that broad base of financial knowledge along with the ability to allow students an ability to specialize as their career desires suit.

That is all for now. I will send this to the Vanderbilt team to see if they have anything new on their end I should post. I’ll try and get some updated student reviews as well. More to come for sure.
