Purdue University Masters in Finance

The Purdue University Master in Finance program is a frequently searched MSF program and I wanted to update my material on it. They have some good info on their website and I am working on speaking with someone for some additional info. Hope this helps.

  • Average Age – 25
  • Female – 55%
  • Median GMAT – 670
  • Middle 80% Range – 620-720
  • Median GPA – 3.37/4.00
  • Middle 80% Range – 3.11-3.71
  • Median Work Experience – 2 years
  • Middle 80% Range – 0-4 years


Employment Status of 2009 Graduating MS in Finance Class*

  • 89% employed full-time
  • 11% employed in temporary or part-time roles (e.g., internship in a financial services firm)
  • 88% of those employed full-time were in a finance-related role.

Geographic Placements

  • 58% were employed inside the U.S., in Indiana, Illinois, Florida, Minnesota, and California
  • 42% were employed outside the U.S., in China, Taiwan, and Thailand

We do not yet have data on compensation.  We will be gathering data for the 2010 graduates soon and, of course, there are no guarantees that future MSF graduates will have the same results

* As of April, 2010.  Based on surveys of MS in Finance class of 2009 in fall and spring 2009-2010.  All but six graduates responded (76% response rate).

The program also begins in July so you have the opportunity to intern after your senior year if you want.
