It has been ages since I checked in on the Tulane University Masters in Finance program. Since it has been so long, I will use this post as a refreshed program overview. This MSF has been around for ages now and one that has a large number of alumni. Definitely a program to check out if you are targeting the energy industry or Houston as a target city of employment.

Overview
The Tulane MSF is a 10 or 17 month masters in finance program that is STEM certified. Classes begin every year in July and the program is part of the University Affiliation Program with the CFA. Great that they incorporate CFA materials throughout the program and I think this will help prepare students to sit for Level 1 and 2.
Curriculum is heavily focused on hands on experience, real world analysis and courses in alternative investments. The program consists of 36 credit hours and five potential tracks (Corporate Treasury, Investment Banking, Asset Management, Financial Data Analytics, Sustainable Finance) for students to pick if they want to focus their graduate education.
You can transfer up to 9 credit hours from other higher education institutions. There are a number of electives that you can choose from as well. All helping to tailor your education to your specific interests and goals.
Admissions
This program has standard admissions requirements. Resume, Essay, Recommendation (1), Online Application, Transcripts, and GMAT/GRE (waivers are available). Interviews are not required, but might be asked for so be prepared.

Careers
I searched and couldn’t find specific career information or a report. I went back to my older posts and saw a couple instances of hiring firms. From the website they list a number of logos. Unsure what positions at these firms graduates took, but the names are fairly impressive.
- Charles Schwab
- Deutsche Bank
- Hancock Whitney
- Frontier Capital
- Morgan Stanley
- China Galaxy International
- NYSE
- Citi Bank
- Haitong
- PWC
Program has been around for a while and I am sure there are many more alumni and hiring firms. I will try and get a more comprehensive list from the career office, but I am sure anyone who is applying or considering this MSF can get this information from the admissions office.
Miscellaneous
There are a number of upcoming admission events that anyone who is considering the program should definitely attend. They are both online and in person and there are a number of them in June.

Glad to see Tulane still running a world class MSF program. I remember looking at this program when I was in my MSF. The university was also one of the first to come out with an energy masters, showing their commitment to the specialized masters degree. Check out the link below to learn more about their program and check back for updates.
