A buddy of mine is attending the Georgia State University Master in Finance Program and has been telling me pretty good things about it. I posted an update on the program a couple months ago (you can read it here), but I have recently been in contact with admissions and have some new information for anyone interested in attending.
- Specializations:
- The Georgia State program just created three specialized tracks to meet the needs of students in offering more targeted learning depending on which career track they’re interested in. The three specializations are Corporate Finance / Global Capital Markets and Financial Services / Asset and Wealth Management. A more in-depth description of each track can be found here (link).
- Location:
- The program is conveniently located in Buckhead/Atlanta’s finance center and right next to MARTA, Atlanta’s rail public transportation system. The school of business is located right in the heart of Buckhead off Peachtree Street. This is ideal for working professionals or those living in or nearby the city.
- International Recruiting:
- The GSU international recruitment team will be traveling across the globe this fall. They will be visiting South America, India and East Asia later this year. Admissions will give me more information on these travel dates and I will let all of you know more information at that time.
Tuition is pretty affordable as well ($37,500) and being located in a major, southern city is a great quality. Atlanta has a number of good financial market positions and has reach into Florida as well as other southern financial hubs. I am working to get more information on this program and hopefully will be visiting the campus soon to give a first hand report.
