Since I was just in Boston, I thought it made sense for an update on the Bentley University MSF program. Boston has a sizable number of specialized masters programs and Bentley has been running this MSF for ages now. I first posted about this MSF in 2018, but it is much older than that. If you are thinking about a specialized masters in Boston, this should be one of the programs you check out.
Overview
As mentioned in another post, this program offers a Finance or Financial Analytics path, which includes more financial mathematics and statistical analysis. The Financial Analytics path is STEM Certified which provides an additional 2 years on OPT for international students after graduation. Complete either in 12 to 20 months, depending on foundation waivers and an optional summer internship. The program has an in person and hybrid option, allowing you to study online if necessary.
This MSF has partnerships with Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) for their Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation, and the CFA Institute’s University Recognition Program.
The Bentley MSF is currently ranked 4th in the US by the Financial Times for pre-experience programs. They have been 4th in 2023, 3rd in 2021, 2nd in 2020 and 4th in 2018. A great consistency of top recognition by one of the only publications to rank these programs.

Admissions
Tuition for this program is currently (June 2025) $6,095 per class. All MS program recruit 10 classes so total tuition for this MSF is $60,950. This is about a 10% increase from when I posted last in 2023. There are a number of merit based and financial aid determined scholarships and I would highly encourage you to look into them as well as outside scholarships to help lower your cost of attendance.
Application deadlines for the Fall 2025 cycle are currently rolling and due August 1st. For the Spring 2026 cycle, round 1 is due October 1st.
