Georgetown McDonough School of Business Updates

I have a few general updates on the Georgetown McDonough School of Business. Georgetown has a number of specialized masters that I continue to post about and anything new at the broader university or business school impacts these programs as well. It is great to see the continued growth at one of the countries best universities and Georgetown is doing an incredible job at evolving and improving.

Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy

“Today, we announced that the Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business has received a total investment of $25 million from Michael G. Psaros (B’89), his wife Robin and their family to expand the center’s position as the preeminent nonpartisan institution at the intersection of financial markets and public policy.

The Psaros Center connects Georgetown students directly with leaders shaping financial markets and policy through opportunities such as the FinPolicy Trek to Capitol Hill and New York City, research engagements, events, and other experiential programs.

Its annual Financial Markets Quality Conference (happening tomorrow — Sept. 23) and other convenings bring together senior figures from across the financial and policy communities to discuss the most pressing issues facing global markets. Recent events hosted by the Psaros Center have included the speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, the vice chair of the Federal Reserve Board and the CEOs of JPMorganChase and Goldman Sachs.”

There is a full press release on this new center. Check it out. Really exciting new addition for the school.

Jesuit Values for Business Initiative

Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business is deepening its commitment to forming business principled leaders through its newly launched Jesuit Values for Business Initiative. A first-of-its-kind effort among business schools, the initiative will intentionally integrate McDonough’s values-based approach across the full student experience, including curriculum, student formation, community life, leadership development, and school-led impact programs.

The Jesuit Values for Business Initiative builds on the school’s longstanding commitment to educate the whole person and prepare women and men for others. Through academic, co-curricular, and community-based experiences, the initiative will help students develop the self-awareness, discernment, and sense of purpose to consider not only what they can achieve through their careers but how they can contribute to human flourishing and the common good.
