Georgia State University Logo

The Georgia State University Masters in Commercial Real Estate is another great specialized masters offering from GSU. I’ve been working on expanding the programs covered on this site and this is one that I thought would be of interest to all of you. Georgia State has been very responsive in creating programs that are relevant to its students and geography and this is no different. Anyone who has spent time in Atlanta can attest to how much growth, specifically in commercial real estate there is.

Overview

This is a one year, 3 semester program that can be done in person or online. Classes are two evenings a week: Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30 p.m. EST, allowing this program to be completed by working professionals without interrupting their career. The curriculum has classes in law, modeling, market analysis, development, investments and other aspects of the CRE industry. Students will also earn ARGUS Enterprise certification as well as CCIM – University Fast Track designation, both of which are industry standard tools/certifications.

The program boasts a 100% employment record 3 months post graduation and around a quarter of the class reported a salary increase post graduation. Here are select employers:

  • Banyan Investment Group
  • CBRE
  • Cousins Properties
  • Fidelity National Title Group
  • Hodges Ward Elliott
  • Passco Companies
  • The Dilweg Companies
  • Wells Fargo
  • Wiley Real Estate Group

Admissions

This is pretty standard, although a GMAT/GRE is not required. Applicants need to send their resume, a video interview, transcripts and a personal statement. Tuition is relatively affordable as well, especially if you are a GA resident:

  • Georgia residents: $37,500
  • Non-Georgia residents: $43,500

Applications are reviewing on a rolling basis so no need to worry about different rounds or rushing your package. Scholarships are available as well.

Working on getting more information on this one for all of you. Right now you can check out the website (link below) for anything else you want to know. Stay tuned!
