Georgia State University Logo

It has been a while since I last checked in on the Georgia State University MSF program and there have been a bunch of updates that I think many of you will find interesting. This program has been around for a while now and it’s location right in the heart of Buckhead make it extremely convenient for anyone working and living in the Atlanta area.

Success Stories

Something I think is really nice and helpful is to hear from graduates how their degree and time and their university has benefited their life. GSU does an amazing job at featuring a number of these success stories for all of you to read. These programs can really catapult your career and in my experience you get back what you put in. Below are a number of recent stories from graduates.

2023 Placement Report

I love seeing placement reports as most students go into a specialize masters with the goal of changing careers or starting their career. Let me lay out some data points on this report and I will give my thoughts after.

  • 88.5% Employed within 3 months
  • $80,077 Average Salary
  • 49% Average Salary Increase

Employment is pretty solid within 3 months. I would be curious what this looks like at the 6 month mark. A lot of students are currently employed so the 49% increase in salary is a great indicator.

Miscellaneous

The GSU MSF is launching a new course in the Fall of 2025 – FI 8092 – Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Applications in Finance

The program has always been good at incorporating current topics into their curriculum.

That is the update for now. Love reading about the student stories as well as seeing the continued innovation of the programs curriculum. Atlanta has seen non-stop growth and being able to study right in one of the most vibrant parts of the city is an incredible advantage.
