MIT Master in Finance Placement Stats

MIT MSF

The MIT Master in Finance program has put their placement information onlineĀ and it is both impressive and telling. I will directly link to the PDF as well as upload a copy for posterity, but let me do a quick break down.

Class Stats:

  • 26 graduates
  • 31% woman
  • Average Age: 23
  • Analyst and Associate level placements
  • Work Experience: Mostly less than 1 year, but 15.8% had 3-5 years
  • 100% placement 3 months from graduation
  • 54% International Students
  • Average starting salary: 70-75K

Here are the companies hiring MIT students:

  • Barclays Capital
  • BlackRock
  • Booz & Co
  • The Boston Consulting Group
  • CITI
  • Credit Suisse
  • General Motors
  • JPMorgan Chase
  • Morgan Stanley
  • Nico Holdings, LLC
  • Novo Nordisk
  • OC&C Strategy Consultants
  • State Street Bank
  • UBS
  • Waddell & Reed Financial Advisors

Very interesting and impressive stats. The mix of non financial services is rather unique and shows a good depth. In my opinion, this is more a function of MIT’s brand and reputation than the Masters in Finance degree. Here is the actual report:
