MIT Sloan Master in Finance Class of 2014 Placement Report

MIT MSF

The MIT Sloan Master in Finance program has done it again. Another great year of placements and salary stats. I personally rank MIT as the top program in the US and you can see with their consistent placements into front office finance roles for both domestic and international student that they truly deserve this designation.

First, lets take a look at the 2014 class profile:

Number of Candidates 127
U.S. Citizens 14%
Non-U.S. Citizens 86%
Women 44%
Average GMAT Score Range 700-760
Average Undergraduate GPA (out of 4.0) 3.8
Average Full-Time Work Experience Prior to MIT Sloan 17.6 months

One thing that surprises me some is the fact that the program is so overweight international students. I am also pleasantly surprised by the number of women in the program. Top scores on both the GMAT and GPA are universal though.

As of September 2014, 96% of the class had received offers, with two thirds being located in the USA. Average salary is $75,000, with a top salary of $115,000. This is base salary also, which is slightly misleading as so much compensation is deferred compensation. You can expect the all in number to be much higher. Three quarters of the class went into finance, with the rest going into consulting or business development.

Companies in red have hired at least one MSF student since the inception of the program (WOW!)

These stats just keep getting better, reflecting the quality students that are admitted as well as the education that they receive. Check out the MIT Sloan Master in Finance website for more information. In the meantime I will work on getting some recent student reviews.
