It has been about a year since I last checked in with the Syracuse University MSF program and wanted to update everyone on this program. The university has updated some placement information and they are recruiting for the new class as we speak.
Admissions
The Fall 2025 Application Deadlines are listed below:
- Early Deadline: Jan. 15
- Regular Deadline: March 15
- Final Deadline: April 15
Plenty of time to apply for the early decision round. While I could not find a class profile for this MSF, the admissions section has the following information that I found helpful:
“No formula is employed in admission decision making. Candidates are evaluated individually, with special consideration given to professional experience and accomplishments, including potential for career growth and advancement. Other factors considered are the candidate’s prior academic success, the GMAT exam and communication skills, as evidenced in the application essay.”
Tuition is currently $1,945 per credit hour. This comes out to $58,350 for the 30 required credit hours (as of Dec 2024).

As before, limited information on placements. There does seem to be some additions to the list from when I posted last.

From my time at Syracuse, the employers tend to be large corporate, Big 4 Accounting and banks, primarily in a back/middle office function. The university is very well represented in NYC and you are roughly 4-5 hours away from the city by car/bus/train so it is very accessible. I would make spending time in New York a priority if you choose to attend this program.
Miscellaneous
There is an upcoming graduate student information session for anyone interested in attending and learning more about this program and other graduate degrees offered by Syracuse. Personally, I like these, but would also suggest reaching out to admissions directly as Syracuse has a number of graduate programs that will be discussed on this call.
