Vanderbilt University MS in Finance 2014 Employment Report

Vanderbilt MSF Logo

The Vanderbilt University MSF Program just released their 2014 Employment Report and the results are great. I will include the full link to the program towards the end for everyone that wants to read it in full, but let me just touch on some of the highlights.

First, one of the best stats a program can have is the percentage of students employed 90 days post graduation. You want to look at this since many students take a little longer than say MBA students when it comes to starting their career. Vanderbilt doesn’t disappoint in this area with 98% of all students finding full time employment three months after graduation. Another impressive stat is that 88% of international students have found work in the same period. Also, 72% of students found jobs through Vanderbilt, with roughly 57% of students entering the financial service industry (31% entering investment banking). The average starting salary is $62,000 not including bonus.

Class of 2014 Profile

  • Class Size: 43
  • Women: 23%
  • Undergraduate GPA Range: 3.57
  • GMAT Range: 640-760
  • International: 25%

Top hiring firms for the class of 2014 are Deutsche Bank, SunTrust Robinson Humphrey and Raymond James. Over the last four years Vanderbilt Master in Finance students have had placements are spread across the country and at nearly every top firm. The program has placed students in investment banking, F500, sales and trading, equity research, consulting and PhD programs.

I am confident that the Class of 2015 will have equally as great placements and continue this trend. It is really great to see this program do so well and I am happy to have known many of the students who gone through the program. Good luck to all those applying this year.
