The Vanderbilt University MSF program just released a bunch of updates and I wanted to get this information out to all of you as soon as possible. This program is actively in the admissions process for the next class and I know this is one that all of you focus on. We have the updated class profile as well as an exciting new initiative to discuss. Check it out!

2025 Class Profile

Vanderbilt always does a great job with their class stats and this year is no different. Check out the snapshot of the newest MSF cohort below.

  • Class Size: 84
  • Average Age: 23
  • Female (percentage of class): 20%
  • International Students (percentage of class): 20%
  • Countries Represented: 11
  • Mean Undergraduate GPA: 3.8
  • Median Undergraduate GPA: 3.8
  • Undergraduate Majors Represented: 22
  • Undergraduate Institutions Represented: 57

Compared to the class of 2024 this is a fairly consistent class profile. Slightly smaller than last year, with slightly less international students, all else looks to be very similar. Being able to recruit a consistent class is important and shows that a university is able to identify a profile that works for them. And since the last couple of years have all been similar, anyone reading this should have a good idea of what the program looks for when reviewing applications.

Investment Banking Academy

The Vanderbilt MSF program, in conjunction with the career center, has launched an investment banking academy to help students who are interested in a career in banking. I love this concept and think it will turbo charge placements for a program that already has amazing front office career outcomes. Some quote discussing the program:

“For MS Finance students interested in investment banking, the timeline for recruitment and interviews begins as early as July. Since there’s a limited runway for them, the Investment Banking Academy wants to start giving support and resources as early as February that year to prepare them for recruitment.”

“The IBA operates as a selective program, with 2 tiers of involvement: general participation and fellowship. This peer-to-peer mentoring structure offers a valuable and enriching experience for both candidates going through recruitment and those with investment banking offers to give back to the Vanderbilt Business community.”

You can read all about this here. Very exciting news for anyone considering this program and I love to see the continual improvement and innovation going on at the Vanderbilt MSF program.

Admissions

I wanted to wrap up this post with an update on the application deadlines for those of you who are considering the program:

*Limited to U.S. citizens, permanent residents or international students with a 4-year U.S. undergraduate degree.

That is the update for now. Plenty of time to get your application in and lots of exciting changes to motivate anyone on the fence about applying to this phenomenal MSF program. I’ll have another update for everyone in short order as well. Until next time.
