University of Chicago Masters in Finance Update – December 2025

The University of Chicago Masters in Finance program has a number of updates and I am happy to see this program continue to grow and thrive. I believe this is the second or third class for this MSF as this is a relatively new program, but it looks like things are running smoothly over at Booth. There are only a handful of MSF options at top business schools and this is one of the best.

2026 Class Profile

  • Class Size – 118
  • Average Undergraduate GPA – 3.8
  • Male / Female – 59% / 41%
  • Average GRE
    • Quantitative – 168
    • Verbal – 161
  • Undergraduate Schools Represented – 72

Compared to last year, this profile it pretty much in line. Same class size, slightly higher GPA, same gender split, etc. They are missing the percentage of the class that is international, but I would expect it to be in the 70-80% range. The majority of the class is either an economics (39%) or finance (19%) major, although there is a significant percent of the class that doesn’t fall into this category.

Applications Timeline / Cost

We are nearing the end of this application window. If you want to apply, you have until January 8th, 2026 to get your package in. It looks like they start accepting applications in October of every year so if you miss it this time around you can start planning for next year.

Tuition for the program is $90,564 (as of 12.30.25). This is for three quarters. They also mention $120,752 for a four quarter program. So needlessly to say, I am a little confused. This program is going to be priced on the premium end and similar in cost to the MIT MSF. You are going to one of the best business schools in the country after all.

Upcoming Admissions Event

There is an upcoming event for anyone trying to wrap up their application before the deadline.

  • Master in Finance Application Tips and Tricks
    • January 05, 2026
    • 2:00 PM until 12:45 PM CT
    • Link

That is the update for now. I found an old post on the U Chicago website talking about a MiF career report in early 2025. This deadline has obviously gone and passed at this point. I would expect them to have some career report in early 2026. This will be very informative as the first class started in 2024. I will be on the look out for that and post about it the second I find it.

Happy New Years!
